You never know who you are going to meet at Katie’s Cottage. This was the case about three weeks ago. Lisa came into Katie’s Cottage looking to book a room for a weekend. Her husband was in hospital receiving care. Lisa who resides in Altona wanted to be close to her husband. Being able to stay longer in the evening and not having to worry about driving home. 

The next morning while making breakfast Lisa asked me if I had worked in the Hochfeld school. I replied with a yes. Still not recognizing Lisa. Lisa said, “you might remember me better as Elizabeth.” It was then that I realized who Lisa was. This started a conversation of catching up with each other. Lisa came to Hochfeld school a quiet, shy girl who had moved with her family from Mexico. Lisa and I spent many hours together learning English, writing, and working on her math skills. Lisa grew up got married had a family, she works and lives in Altona. 

You just never know who you will meet at Katie’s Cottage. It really was a wonderful time visiting with Lisa and catching up. Thank you, Lisa for staying at Katie’s Cottage. Wishing you and your family all the best!!
