Grade 3 Maple Leaf School Students Inspire Amazing Donation
Pictured: All the donated items from Maple Leaf School
At the beginning of February, Ruth went to visit the grade 3’s at Maple Leaf School. She shared about Kaitlyn and about Katie Cares. She also talked about Love Like Katie. The children had great questions, and learned about the process of printing Love Like Katie.
After reading the book, students were inspired to make a difference. The students found a wish list on the website, and held a drive throughout the month of February. The students gathered items such as: granola bars, toilet paper, Kleenex, crackers, and many other food and household items. All of the items collected will be used at Katie’s Cottage for guests. On February 28, the grade 3 students and their teacher held an assembly. The students shared poems, and sang songs about friendship. The students shared, about Katie Cares and what the had learnt about the charity. The grade 3 students at Maple Leaf school gathered 9 boxes of items for Katie’s Cottage!
At the end of March, the Maple Leaf grade 3 students will be visiting the Cottage. They will get to see the Cottage first-hand and learn more about what we do here at Katie’s Cottage.
A big thank you goes out to the students, staff, and parents for your tremendous support of Katie Cares.
