Book – Love Like Katie

Lindsay Rae is a Country/Roots artist from Southern Manitoba who has frequented many prairie stages as well as across Canada. She also enjoys performing at events with her duo, ‘L Rae & J’ along with her husband, Joey. Lindsay’s fun loving spirit, her love of story-telling and passion for inspiring people resonates through her lyrics and beautiful melodies. She has been nominated for many Manitoba Country Music Awards in the past number of years and participated in ‘Dauphin’s Country Fest Competition Series’ 2019 and made it to the finals with ‘L Rae & J’. Her repertoire includes a 2012 Christmas album, a 2015 Country/Pop album, and many singles in between including most recently, ’This Is Us’, with L Rae & J. She also wrote and recorded ‘Love Like Katie’ which helps to raise money for the Katie Cares Charity, which has a special place in her heart as Katie was one of her piano students.

Marilyn Hart author of Love Like Katie.  Marilyn’s gentle spirit and her special way of using words makes the story easy to read.  She has captured Kaitlyn’s dream perfectly!! Marilyn and her husband Ian live in Chortitz MB with their 3 children.  Marilyn is a teacher at Border Valley in the Garden Valley School Division. This is Marilyn’s first children’s book she has written.

Ruth has lived in the Winkler area all her life and has been creating art as long as she can remember. Her work is focused mainly on portraits, using a variety of mediums. She met Ruth R. about two years ago when she did a portrait of Ruth and Kaitlyn for a “Faces of Winkler” art exhibit. Ruth is a wife, mom, and grandma to an amazing bunch of creative and brilliant humans, most of whom have been her models at some point.

Yvonne grew up in Berwalde and went to school in Winkler where she graduated from GVC. As an artist at heart, she has always felt a passion for creativity and expression. This passion led her to complete her degree in graphic design at Red River College and continue on to develop her skills with design and marketing. In 2002 she decided to move back to the Pembina Valley where she started up her company Inner Eye Design and offered her services as a freelance graphic designer. Through her company and other employment, she has been very fortunate to have worked on a diverse variety of projects for the retail, tourism and manufacturing sectors. Along the way, she has had the opportunity to collaborate with some amazing people, businesses and organizations who have inspired her over the years. The most notable to date would have to be Ruth Reimer and Katie Cares. She is in awe by what they have been able to achieve and the impact they continue to have on so many lives. She is grateful and honored for the opportunity to work with Ruth and help Katie’s words and dreams live on.
