Katie Cares received a donation of $2,000.00 for the Beanie Baby Program from the Elks of Altona and the Elks Foundation. The Elks organization was formed nationally in 1912 and formed an organization in 1960 in Altona. The organization raises funds for children to provide funds for children hearing and speech disorders. Altona Elks organization Guy Mullen representative contacted Katie Cares to get information regarding the Beanie Baby program. The Elks are a small group 28 member who give aid when the need arises.

The Elks have recently helped 2 families to purchase an insulin pump and hearing aids for children. The #1 goal for the Elks organization is to provide financial assistance for medical needs of children with hearing and speech disorders in Altona.
