The Spruce Up Your Story Campaign
The Spruce Up Your Story campaign, now in its third year, was opened to nominations for community space renovations earlier this year; submissions were being accepted until May 31, 2022. According to Red River Mutual, it had received nearly 150 submissions from across the Prairies. Katie Cares decided to submit a grant application.
Katie Cares received an email last week, announcing that the charity was selected to receive a grant! This was a great surprise and one that the charity was thrilled to receive!
The money will go towards putting in a new concrete curb on the north side of the parking lot. Also, new concrete curbs around the flowers and shrub beds. This will help to keep weeds out of the gardens. The property will also see new trees, shrubs and perennials planted.
This grant will allow the charity to continue to keep the yard beautiful for guests to enjoy. Many thanks to Red River Mutual for choosing our project, and to see and believe in our vision and mission.
The charity has impacted many people and families across Manitoba and beyond. Because of Kaitlyn’s (founder of Katie Cares) dream to give back to the community, we are able to help families. We are so proud of the impact and the work that continues to happen each day at the cottage.
