The Beanie Baby Program started with Kaitlyn Reimer founder of Katie Cares giving stuffies to children who were in the hospital. She felt the need to give to children so that they felt supported.
The beanie baby program has grown tremendously in the southern health region. The medical staff has said that these furry-friendly critters make a world of difference. Tears are wiped away and smiles appear. Children become more compliant, the stress factor comes down and many times both child and parent are more relaxed.
I am reaching out to the business/private community. If you are looking for a project to support. Please consider the Beanie Baby program in your giving. This past year we have given 1,400 to date. The impact of a child receiving care in a hospital or at a clinic can have a lasting impression. By giving this small item children will have a good memory of their visit.
