On July 1, 2022, Katie Cares hit the road north to Elm Creek Manitoba. It was a sunny, warm day visiting the wonderful community of Elm Creek. The community welcomed Randy and Ruth with open arms. They felt welcomed and heard many stories of the impact that Katie Cares was making in Elm Creek and surrounding communities. The Reimers heard from children and parents alike about their experiences receiving a beanie baby, or how families have stayed at the cottage.
The Canada Day committee set up a dunk tank. Patrons could donate to the charity and they in turn could throw 3 balls and attempt to hit the bullseye and dunk their favorite teacher, firemen, Reeve, or CO-OP general manager.
A big thank you to Morley and Megan Jones for all your help in making the dunk tank fundraiser a huge success. To those who signed up to sit in the dunk tank, to help raise funds for Katie Cares, thank you!! Katie Cares would like to thank Annette Potvin for inviting the Reimers to the fundraiser for the charity. A big thank you goes out to Elm Creek and surrounding communities for the tremendous support that you gave and shown, the dunk tank raised a whopping $1556.00 in just 3 hours. We are truly grateful for your generosity.
