Recently Katie Cares had an abundance of wool!  The wool has been put to good use.  We have had a great response to our request for knitters.  The wool is now returning to Katie’s Cottage in the form of slippers.  Our knitters have been extremely busy knitting and crocheting.  We have many slippers that have been made for children.

The question came up what do we do with children’s slippers?  Because we don’t have many children who visit the cottage.  So we decided to put the slippers into the Katie Care bags.  A child who is admitted into hospital gets a bag.  The bag is filled with a variety of items that is designed to take the child’s mind off of the stress, fear and anxiety that they are feeling.  While they are in hospital.

So now a new item will be added to the bags, for as long as we have slippers we will put a pair in each bag!!  Thank you to the volunteers to knit and crocheted the slippers.
