On May 4, 2019 Rise Athletics & Wellness put on a fundraiser in honour of Greg Ens. Greg was a member of Rise. Along with members of Rise Southland Honda employees also joined in on the fundraiser.
The event gave people two ways that they could use their strength to give back. A sled push gave people the chance to compete alone, or in relays with up to three people with the goal of pushing a 150 lb sled up and down a course as many times as they could in five minutes. The second way was to push a brand new Honda Civic 100 feet. Top times ranged from 13-15 seconds.
The Ens family decided the money raised would be donated to Katie Cares. A grand total of $1865.00 was raised. Katie Cares would like to extend a heartfelt thank you to the Ens family for choosing Katie Cares. We would also like to thank Rise Athletics for setting up this event. Many thanks also to the many people who joined in to make the fundraiser a huge success.
