See it... Believe it... Achieve it...

During the school year, Mrs. Friesen’s class discussed the concept of empathy and what it means. Our class motto was “choose kind,” and we’ve worked all year and trying to be kinder than necessary, understand other people’s feelings, and treat others with respect. As part of this learning, we have learned what it means to have Alzhiemer’s or dementia, and have worked with the Alzheimer’s Society and the Buhler Active Living Centre to understand what getting older as a senior citizen looks and feels like. We have also worked with Katie Cares as a school, understanding what it make feel like to be sick and in the hospital fighting through a disease or illness. We decided to have a garage sale as a class where we all brought in used items and sold them to earn money for these two organizations: Alzheimer’s society and Katie Cares. We split the money we raised between the two and were very excited to share with others. We have a lot to continue learning about empathy and kindness, but we hope that our actions will help others in need and that our kindness will spread! SEE IT…BELIEVE IT…ACHIEVE IT…
