Winkler Barracudas held their annual swim meet Aug. 11, 2013. The meet started with a tribute swim to their friend and teammate Kaitlyn Reimer. Kaitlyn started swimming on the Winkler Barracudas swim team when she was 6 years old. Kaitlyn couldn’t wait for swim season to start each year. She looked forward to swimming, meets, and cheering on her friends. On August 11, 2013 Kaitlyn’s team paid tribute to her by starting the meet with her favorite stroke, the butterfly. All swimmers were invited to swim the butterfly in honour of Kaitlyn. Pictured are swimmers swimming the butterfly, also pictured is Keegan Hildebrand a friend of Kaitlyn’s and teammate. At a swim meet 4 years ago, Keegan forgot his goggles and Kaitlyn gave him hers. To this day Keegan wears these pink goggles in honour of his friend. Thank you to the Barracudas for the special recognition and to Keegan for the special friend you have been to Kaitlyn for continuing to wear her goggles at each meet that you attend.
