Katie’s Cottage has been blessed many times over. But it never gets old, or do we ever get tired of the generosity. In September Mrs. Froese’s grade 3 class at Pine Ridge Elementary School in Winkler were studying about Terry Fox.
The class started to wonder if there was a charity close to home that helped people with cancer? The class discovered Katie Cares and learned how the charity helps children, adults, and families in many ways. The class read the book Love Like Katie.
They decided to collect money and purchase items from the wish list. Items they purchased were bottled water, juice boxes, chocolate chips, flour, brown and white sugar, and granola bars. All these items will be used to make the stay at Katie’s Cottage more comfortable and relaxing.
