Thank you Dayton for your generous and kind, caring heart!

Each and everyday medical staff give out Beanie Babies to children who are visiting Boundary Trails Hospital Emergency Room.  The idea to give Beanie Babies came from Kaitlyn Reimer and her own experience from being in the hospital.  The idea behind this program is too let children know that someone cares about them.  The Beanie Babies provide comfort and support to the child.

Dayton is a 6 year old boy who plays hockey.  He attends school at Minnewasta school.  He enjoys playing with his friends, reading, math, and of course, recess.

Dayton was in hospital, due to so many people needing to see a doctor. He was in for several hours.  While waiting Dayton and his mom watched a family lose a loved one.  This touched the 6 year old’s heart.  After receiving his own Beanie Baby, Dayton gave his cuddly friendly stuffy to the person who had lost a loved one.  Dayton realized very quickly that by receiving and giving this special gift, he could provide love and support to a total stranger.

Young and old need a friend to hold onto.  The Beanie Baby provides that warm feeling.  Tears are wiped away and smiles appear on the face of someone holding a Beanie Baby,

Thank you to medical staff in Altona, Carman and Boundary Trails Hospital for your willingness to give the Beanie Babies to children.  To learn more about Katie Cares: https://katiecares.wpengine.com/katie/katies-parents
