March 2020, the Beanie Baby program came to an abrupt halt, due to Covid 19. The Beanie Baby program was an important component to the work of Katie Cares. Kaitlyn, founder of Katie Cares, started this program. It gave her joy and satisfaction knowing that she had given a child a gift that provided support and love. It gives me great joy to inform you that the program is back!!

Southern Health Sante Sud gave the okay to start this program again. Katie’s Cottage staff will be getting the furry little friends ready for delivery. The program gives Beanie Babies to several health offices in the Southern Health region.

We will be following strict guidelines to continue this program. If your child receives one of the Beanie Babies rest assured the following guidelines have been followed and that our health authorities have given their seal of approval:

Beanie Babies must be new. They will be delivered to Katie’s Cottage and will not be handled by anyone but staff at Katie’s Cottage.
Staff must wash their hands prior to handling the Beanie Babies.
The staff must wear gloves and use a mask while packing the Beanie Babies.
The Beanie Babies will be sealed, and vacuum packed individually.
They will be put into a clear clean bag to be transported to their destination.
