Today we want to share a great feel-good story. We have generous people who give in a variety of ways. Katie’s Cottage received a donation of 38 crocheted slippers on May 18, 2021. The creator of these slippers shared that her brother in Atlanta USA had the generous idea to donate yarn to the slipper project. He secretly contacted the creator’s son to find out what kind of yarn was being used to make the slippers. The son snooped through her basket and shared the type of yarn she had in her basket. The brother then contacted his stepdaughter in New York who works at Jo-Anne’s Fabrics. She waited for a sale and used her employee discount and placed an order on behalf of her stepdad. The brother then had the yarn sent by Fedex to Morden. The package arrived and was opened to the surprize and delight of the recipient! The slippers are gratefully accepted, the slippers are given to guests who stay at Katie’s Cottage. A heartfelt thank you to everyone who was involved in this special international and intergeneration gift of yarn!! We are so grateful to this donor for her talents and appreciate the love that she puts into each pair of slippers she creates!!
