1. Who can stay at Katie’s Cottage?
Anyone who has a loved one at Boundary Trails, Salem Home, Tabor Home or Eden Mental Health Center.

2. How long can I stay at Katie’s Cottage?
You can stay at Katie’s cottage for as long as you need to. As long as you have a loved one in hospital care.

3. How much does it cost to stay at Katie’s Cottage?
Each room costs $45.20 per night. Plus we charge a $10 refundable key deposit.

4. How many people can stay in a room?
Up to 4 people can stay in a room.

5. What’s provided at Katie’s Cottage?

7 rooms have a 2 double beds
1 room has a queen bed
Each room has a private bathroom, a sink, a toilet and a shower
Shower chairs are provided in each room
Climate control in each room
Satellite TV
Alarm clocks
Phones-guests can call across Canada free of charge
Mini fridge
Linens, towels, blankets and pillows are all provided
Shampoo, conditioner and body wash are provided
Continental breakfast
After hours coffee bar, for guests to access microwave, snack tray, juice, coffee and bottled water
During public access of the main building:
Fully functional kitchen
Free coffee and dainties all day

6. Can I watch the Winnipeg Jets at Katie’s Cottage?
Yes!  Katie’s Cottage is equipped with TVs in each room, which are hooked up to satellite. The lounge also has a TV.

7. Can I do my personal laundry at Katie’s Cottage?
Yes, you can do your laundry at the cottage. A staff member will be happy to help you operate our machines.

8. Can I bring food and eat in my room?
Yes, you can eat in your room. We ask that you clean up any food, so that we keep the cottage.

9. Can I come use the cottage during the day?
Yes, guests can come to Katie’s Cottage and enjoy a cup of coffee and dainties. While they wait for their loved one. Guests can enjoy a comfortable and relaxing environment, along with coffee and dainties. There is no charge for this service.

10. Where is Katie’s Cottage located?
Katie’s Cottage is located directly east of Boundary Trails Hospital. Located south of the junction of highway 3 and 14.

11. How can I pay?
We accept VISA, MasterCard, Debit, and Cash

12. What are the hours at Katie’s Cottage?
Monday-Friday 8:00 am to 8:30 pm
Saturday 9:00 am to 4:00 pm
Sunday 1:00 pm to 6:00 pm
Holiday hours 1:00 to 4:00 pm

13. Does Katie’s Cottage provide meals?
We do provide a hot evening meal, once a week.
Boston Pizza provides supper for our guests once a month
Homemade Chicken Noodle soup is provided twice a month
Katie’s Cottage staff will make a hot meal for our guests

14. How clean is Katie’s Cottage?
We take the utmost of care, to ensure that the cottage is clean. Each room takes about an hour to clean. All bedding, linens, and towels are removed and replace with fresh and clean items. visiting the cottage.

15. Does Katie’s Cottage have Wi-Fi?
Yes, we have free Wi-Fi for our guests.

16. Do you have parking access?
Our parking lot is paved with free parking access for our guests.

17. Do you have parking outlets available?
Yes, we have outlets for you to plug in your car on those cold winter Manitoba nights.

18. Do I have access to the cottage?
Each guest is given a key to enter into the guest door, the key provides access to their room. The main building center door is locked.

19. How is Katie’s Cottage funded?
Katie’s Cottage is funded through donations, fundraisers, room rentals. Katie’s Cottage is not government funded. Katie Cares/Katie’s Cottage holds charity status with CRA, so therefore which allows the charity to write official tax receipts.

20. How can I help?
You can help in a variety of ways. You can give of your talents through volunteering, or knitting slippers, crocheting, knitting, or sewing lap blankets. We also accept NEW teddy bears, or Beanie Babies. Spread the word about Katie’s Cottage to your family, friends, neighbours, people in your community. We also gratefully accept donations. All donations over $20.00 are eligible for a tax receipt. If you would like to make a donation you can make an online donation.
